Back in 2012 my friend, Gjerda, visited Europe with his family. Their two primary stops were Turkey and France. During this trip, he took tons of audio recordings for the sake of preserving memories.

Several months ago, he sent me these recordings on a whim. He knew I started up an experimental ambient project and figured that I may have use for them.

When I first listened to these audio snippets, I was stunned. They possessed so much character, atmosphere, and mystery. They immediately threw me into a creative stupor and, soon enough, I had crafted two songs.

He provided me with pictures from the trip, and I was quick to use them as the concept art.

He recently listened to these songs for the first time, walking through the woods in his home state of Wisconsin. During this walk, he was overcome by the memories brought on by the music. He quickly held on to this inspiration and wrote a short piece of creative non-fiction to go with the music. The name of this EP is an excerpt from the piece he wrote.
